SECOND MEDIATION TASTER WORKSHOP FOR LIVERPOOL LAW STUDENTS
Tue 25 April 2017, 09:30 – 16:00 BST
Due to popular demand, we are running a second Mediation Taster Training day with Solution Talk, Manchester-based mediation professionals.
As the first training day was so heavily oversubscribed, for this second day we will open a sign-in page for one week from Tuesday 21 March at 10am until Tuesday 28 March at 10am. Everyone on the Eventbrite sign-up list will be entered into a ballot and names will be drawn at random to determine which 35 people will be selected to attend the event. Only successful candidates will be notified, by Friday 31 March, that they have been selected.
Mediation is a key skill that is becoming increasingly relevant for practising lawyers, as Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms are more widely used in the justice sector. Liverpool Law School is delighted to announce that Solution Talk will be offering up to 30 law students the chance to learn and develop mediation skills in a day-long workshop on 25 April. Even better, the day is FREE, includes lunch, and all participants receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the workshop.
Solution Talk say ‘Have you ever wanted to know more about mediation and how it can be used to help people resolve conflict? Manchester-based mediation professionals Solution Talk will be hosting a full-day mediation taster workshop for Liverpool University law students on campus as the Foresight Centre on 25 April from 0930-1600.
Your mediation taster workshop is designed to provide you with some basic information about this aspect of alternative dispute resolution.
The day will be interactive and informative, with a focus on some of the skills we use as mediators to help people resolve conflict that they experience in their day to day lives. This will be followed by mediation in action, where you will have the opportunity to observe a scripted role play based on a real-life example of a mediation case we worked on.
If you are interested in helping people resolve their conflict themselves and learning more about mediation, then this awareness session will be for you.
All students will receive a certificate of participation on successful completion of the workshop.’
Who is this for? All Undergraduate and Postgraduate law students
Where? The Gallery, The Foresight Centre, 1 Brownlow Street, Liverpool L69 3GL
When? On Tuesday 28 April 2017; registration and Coffee 0930, for a 1000 prompt start. Workshop finishes at 1600
Sign-up will open on Tuesday 21 March at 10am and close on Tuesday 28 March at 10am.
Please note: given the tremendous opportunity this presents to boost your employability, learn new skills and enhance your CV, we are expecting this workshop to be extremely popular; as the places are limited we are urging only those who are committed to attending to sign up. If you sign up then fail to attend you’ll be depriving someone else who wanted to go, so only apply if you can commit to the full day’s workshop.
