On the Second Saturday of every month, Guildhall Art Gallery runs themed family events. Our revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
Our Second Saturday on 11 October invites you and your family to strike a pose for the camera and create a photography-based artwork inspired by Liz Johnson Artur's Top Shelf.
11 am - 4pm Creative Activity:
- Create a photo collage with our Instax cameras to make an artwork that truly represents you.
11am and 2pm Story time:
- Story sessions celebrating Black artists, history and creativity.
There will also be a story zone with cushions, costumes, and soft play building bricks.
The activities are free; however, booking is encouraged as it helps us ensure we have enough resources for everybody. Walk-ins are welcome on the day.
The Guildhall Art Gallery is free to enter. The current exhibition is Evelyn De Morgan, and you can pick up a free family guide at the front desk. The exhibition is 'Pay What You Can' so you can pay as much or as little as you like for your ticket, or visit for free.
There is plenty to explore in the Art Gallery, so plan to make a day of it. You can bring your lunch to have outside in Guildhall Yard or in our large cloakroom area.
This event is for children aged 3 to 13 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
