Event Details

A valuable opportunity for Wiltshire Secondary School Music Teachers to share ideas and discuss their work.

Led by Peter Grant  - Assistant Head, The John Bentley School

  • Discussion around the different types of CPD that teachers would like to see with a view to organising a CPD in early summer 2018.
  • Feedback from Musical Cluster coordinator/s in the North and the South from school visits undertaken in 2016/2017. What does this tell us about music provision in Wiltshire and how can it help Secondary Schools' plan?
  • Forum discussion - Where does music sit with regards to the curriculum changes in general and the specific impact of the English Baccalaureate
  • Teachmeet type session - bring an idea or activity along - it could be something as simple as bringing along a song to teach/a starting activity/idea/SOL

Outcomes

  • Shape content for Sec School CPD day in summer 2018
  • Gain tips / ideas / models to use in day to day work
  • Gain information on musical activity in other schools that can aid planning for the future
