Secret Dishes From Around the World - Cookery Workshop

By Bounceback Food CIC

Overview

Join our Community Cookery School and learn how to cook exciting recipes from around the world...

Dinner with a Difference

On our Secret Dishes From Around the World cookery workshop you'll learn how to make 2 exciting recipes in a friendly, supportive learning environment. Each workshop is themed on food from a different country to celebrate the diversity of culture within Manchester and the surrounding areas! You won't find out the theme of the evening until you arrive...

We welcome people of all ages and ability - no previous cooking experience is required. Our experienced Community Chefs provide hands on support and accommodate all learning needs. All required ingredients and equipment are provided.

The workshop takes place at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen in Manchester city centre, within the wonderful Altogether Otherwise. During the day, our Community Kitchen is used to batch cook & distribute meals to partner foodbank & sheltered accommodation sites across the city and deliver cookery workshops & learning programmes for our beneficiaries. In the evenings, we open up the space to the public to support our fundraising efforts with a range of cookery workshops and supper clubs.

Our Secret Dishes From Around the World cookery workshops have been integral to our fundraising efforts since our organisation began in 2014. They were the inspiration for our cookbook trilogy, which you can purchase either as an add-on (collect on the night) or via our online shop. We hope to see you soon!

Who are we?

Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise fighting food poverty & food waste across the UK. Our Community Cookery School teams teach people how to cook, run foodbank drives at market events, help people get jobs in the food sector and coordinate community meal drives that provide emergency meals for our beneficiaries.

Since 2014 we have taught 10,000+ people how to cook - including stroke survivors, young carers, foodbank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We have also secured 25,000+ donations to foodbanks and generated over 285,000 meals for people in need via our catering, community meal drives and cookery workshops.
