Discover the beauty and hidden wonders of these vital and vibrant coastal habitats. From tangled, sea-swept foliage to the birds nesting amongst the grasses, explore the fascinating world of sand dune specialists who call Irvine beach home — buzzing bees, glimmering beetles, mystifying moths, and many more remarkable creatures.
Through hands-on photography and creative writing activities, participants will be invited to look closely at the flora and fauna of Irvine’s sand dunes. Together, we’ll seek out our non-human local residents and consider what life is like amongst these dynamic coastal landscapes. The words and images that emerge from the day will be collated by Christina Riley into a collective artwork or poem celebrating this spectacular seaside habitat.
