Underground Folklore of England

In this illustrated talk Antony Clayton, author of Secret Tunnels of England: Folklore & Fact and The Folklore of London will uncover various examples of unusual underground folklore across England, including the mysterious Green Children of Woolpit, the Knockers of Cornish mining folklore, fiddlers vanishing underground, buried treasure, fabled secret tunnels and treacle mines.

Copies of Antony’s books will be available at reduced prices.

About the author:

Antony Clayton is the author of Subterranean City, Beneath the Streets of London, Decadent London, The Folklore of London, Secret Tunnels of England: Folklore & Fact and Netherwood: Last Resort of Aleister Crowley. He also co-edited, with Phil Baker, Lord of Strange Deaths: The Fiendish World of Sax Rohmer. He lives in Hastings.
