What is ‘Progress 8’?
Are exam results more important than Ofsted grades?
How is ‘progress’ different from ‘attainment’?
Is the ‘EBacc’ a qualification?
Are Ofsted inspections fair and accurate?
I get asked these sorts of questions all the time by parents who are in the process of choosing a secondary school for their son or daughter. There is so much data and information out there, but trying to make sense of it all can be confusing and overwhelming, and unfortunately schools are often too busy to explain what it all means!
I’m Tom Richmond, and I have spent over 20 years in the world of education including more than a decade in education research and analysis. I have designed this webinar to explain the main facts and figures that the government publishes about secondary schools, as well as how you can use this information to make the right choice for your child.
Choosing a secondary school is a big deal for every family, and I want to help you reach the best possible decision. By the end of the webinar, you will hopefully feel more confident and comfortable talking about Progress 8, Ofsted grades and many other pieces of information and data that you can find online about secondary schools across England.
