Event description

Description

No need to go to Paris or Rome.

This is Manchester. This is art.

Let's start with the remarkable stained glass at Manchester Cathedral and the controversial Trinity triptych by Mark Cazalet which has divided the critics and public alike.

Then we’re off to St Ann’s Church which displays a 16th century Italian painting, The Descent From the Cross. But is it the original by Annibale Carracci or a copy? What a great story to tell as we examine this fascinating work.

We will also examine the most astonishing “Stations of the Cross” you will ever see and get a little more secular at the Art Gallery at the Pre-Raphaelites and Lowrys.

Ed Glinert casts his gimlet eye over the brushstrokes.
