The Frontline Network are delighted to announce this online training Section 17 Support for Families with NRPF, delivered by Project 17 as part of our ongoing Outsourced Training programme.
Who is this course for
Please be aware this training is exclusively offered to UK frontline workers supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. We ask those attending have a case load which covers people who families with children covered by Section 17 and with NRPF.
Those who fall outside of the above criteria will not be able to attend this training event and any booking made will have to be returned.
Please ensure you have agreed time off for training with line manager in order to attend this event prior to registration.
About this course
This session looks in depth at Section 17 support for families with NRPF and is aimed at professionals working regularly with these families. Please note the training does not look at support for those without children.
The session will cover:
- Understanding ‘no recourse to public funds’
- Identifying immigration status and entitlements
- Support for families: section 17 of the Children Act 1989
- Child in need assessments and human rights assessments
- Risks to requesting support
- Common problems accessing support (and how to overcome them)

The Frontline Network are working with Project 17 as training provider to offer Section 17 Support for Families with NRPF on 09/10/2025. In order to facilitate this training session, we are required to share registration information with Project 17 to deliver the session. Trainer will only use this information to register attendance, share joining links, share pre- and post-training course materials, share feedback forms and, where necessary, answer questions that arise in training but are unable to be answered due to time constraints. By registering for this training event, you are confirming your consent for the Frontline Network to share your registration details with Project 17 for the above stated purposes.
Please note if you do not consent to your registration details being shared with training provider, we will not be able to host you on this training session.
