Event description

Description

Central London venue to be confirmed

The emergence of new information services based on the data collected by infrastructure systems is becoming a key opportunity to innovate and improve the use of our limited capacity in infrastructure. Enabling the planning of journeys, management of congestion and perhaps limiting the carbon emissions from transport in new ways. These systems will provide much needed support for our endeavours in the near future and yet the information provided is often of a critical nature, both in terms of security of information, privacy and expected availability. In fact the new EU Directive on Networking and Information Systems is quite clear about the obligations on systems and service owners for information security and operational resilience. This workshop will highlight these new requirements and allow the delegates to raise their concerns and challenges in a safe environment, under Chatham House rules, with an expert panel drawn from across Government, Academia and Industry.

Who should attend?

Delegates from major infrastructure organisations in Transport, Energy, Water and Urban Living; organisations who supply infrastructure monitoring and management systems to such bodies and delegates with an interest in developing and delivering new services as part of Digital Transformation in Government.

Draft agenda and speakers:

Registration for the event will open at 9.30am, with the first session beginning at 10am. We expect the workshop to end at 4pm and the day will include refreshments on arrival, lunch and afternoon tea and time for networking after the event.

The programme will be chaired by Professor Chris Hankin, Imperial College and facilitated by Ian Osborne, Head of Complex Systems at KTN. We are also delighted to include Professor Siraj Shaikh from Coventry University and Professor Rob Bloomfield from City University and his spinout Adelard.

This is a very practical event aimed at those people with newly realised responsibilities for providing secure and resilient services in support of the use of infrastructure systems.
