Date and time

Online event
This event will present the new See Me See Change approach for schools including resources to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination
About this event
We are inviting all local authority leads with responsibility for taking forward a strategic approach to improving mental health in schools to join us to find out more about the See Me See Change programme and learn how your local authority can follow in the footsteps of others to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination across secondary schools.
See Me See Change is designed to support school staff and pupils increase their knowledge of the impact that stigma and discrimination has on people with mental health problems, and develop a plan to make things better in their school.
Why have we developed this resource?
Our previous research has found that 51% of young people wouldn’t tell anyone if they were finding it difficult to cope with their mental health as the fear of being judged, dismissed and not taken seriously makes it difficult for young people to tell anyone how they feel. This must change. We need more young people to feel that they can speak to adults in their life about how they are feeling and reach out for support when they are struggling.
What will you get out of the session?
- Overview of the See Me See Change approach and impact.
- Opportunity to learn how it has been implemented in the pilot from some of our LA leads.
- Opportunity to learn and discuss how it could be taken forward in your area.
Who should attend?
This event is aimed at NHS and council leads, quality improvement officers and education officers with a mental health or health and wellbeing remit who are interested in learning more about the See Me See Change approach and how it can be implemented in schools across your area.
