Description

Learn the basics of saving your own seed from common vegetables, herbs and flowers to become more self-sufficient, to save money and to grow healthier, more vigorous crops which are adapted to your local environment.

Learn why you should be saving seeds and what plants we can save seeds from. Get some top tips for saving and storing seeds correctly and have a go at some practical seed saving activities.

Seeds will also be available for you to take home.

Trainer - Ruth Yeo (Horticultural Therapist and Trainer, St. Mary's Secret Garden and Core Landscapes)

Ruth has been gardening for most of her life and after a career in IT, retrained as a Horticultural Therapist 11 years ago. She currently works with adults with learning disabilities and mental ill health as well as volunteering at 2 community food growing gardens and never ceases to be amazed by the magic of growing from seed.
