About this event

The pigs have been tilling; t'would be a shame to let their hard work go to waste. Join us in turning their efforts into a wildflower meadow at the Grange Project! 🐽

Who is this for?

Young people aged 18-30 interested in spending time outside with other like-minded folk and keen to learn about wildflower meadows, the role of large mammals in rewilding and x

What to expect:

The resident pigs have been turning and aerating the top layer of soil on the site, which creates the perfect environment for sowing wildflower seeds! We'll spend the day sowing seeds for a meadow to flower next year, whilst also learning about the ecological benefits of this habitat 🌼

About The Grange:

Youngwilder's youth-led rewilding project sits on 31 acres of grassland and woodland, and is part of the wider Grange Project, which is an 80-acre rewilding project in the heart of rural Monmouthshire.

The site is accessible along a clay road, which can get slippery when the weather has been wet. The site is hilly, with no paved paths. There are two pigs in the field next to the Youngwilders area, and the ground there is bare and very lumpy. The lower sections of the site can get very wet when the weather has been so.

There is access to a toilet at the barn, and decent phone service throughout the site. There are sometimes visitors renting the two outdoor huts, and the landowners live on site.

If you have any questions or concerns about accessibility, please do not hesitate to reach out to Layla (layla@youngwilders.uk), who would be more than happy to discuss this.
