Seedlibrary Storytelling Evening - Crack a Story: Plant a Seed
Event Information
About this event
The Salisbury Centre Seed Library is excited to welcome back the wonderful herbal storyteller Amanda Edmiston (Botanica fabula) for another evening of 'seedy' storytelling and nature connection practices. Amanda will share some stories with us and we will explore feeling into our own stories related to a particular plant and its seeds and think about how to pass them on and share them with others. There will also be space for a crack - the scotish word for a conversation - to discuss, ask questions, and explore the deeper meanings of these stories and how they speak to us and our world today.
With days growing darker and winter quickly approaching, this is an opportunity to come together for inspiration, reflection and discussion on our place in nature and our relationships with seeds in particular. You are invited to take seeds from our library and do bring any seeds you would like to swap or share with the community!
Come prepared for any weather! We will spend some time connecting with the plants and seeds around us, wandering in the garden, sharing around a fire and in our lovely library inside.
Accompanied children are welcome, although the stories are more tailored to adults and those over 12 years old. Arrive from 2:45pm to settle in for a prompt start at 3pm.
This event is funded by the Edinburgh Council Community Fund and free to participants, but spaces are limited. This is the first in our series of ‘seedy’ storytelling events, the next one will be on Saturday December 4th!
