Event description

Description

{mimi : ninyi : sisi} - formerly Carpe Diem Events - brings you the film screening of the powerful and inspirational documentary 'Seeds of Hope'.

Set in the heart of eastern Congo, what do the tales of all the women and children have to do with your technology and gadgets...? And how can their hope, courage, strength and determination help us fight for a fairer future.....? Headed by the ultra-matriarch and activist - Mama Masika (RIP) who takes us on a journey from hurt to healed and becomes a mother to many, travel with us through this raw and tense, yet heart-warming event as we learn about our connection to Congo and its people.

Funds are being raised for the following:

Masika Centre in Minova, situated in Goma, Eastern Congo. The money will go towards:

  • the childrens' school fees

  • 4 new sewing machines

  • installing a new tap

  • renting a new field to plant more SEEDS OF HOPE!

And building the new {mimi : ninyi : sisi} platform. In order to expand, reach a wider audience and raise even more awarenss we need funds for:

  • new website

  • strategy planner

  • branding

  • advertising

So why donate....? Well, quite frankly this promises to be the best investment you've ever made and one that has a long-lasting and positive effects that you can not only track/see the progress of, but actually be a part of. It's not like donating money to a charity where once the money leaves your hands/bank account/etc you're left to guess exactly where it's gone. This is working as a collective to build something great with the people of Congo and well as the people around you; it's about forming better connections and it all starts with I, you, me....{mimi : ninyi : sisi}
