Event description

Description

This event, curated by FBL/Faculty of Arts and the British Academy of Management (BAM), brings together academics and practitioners of sustainable & responsible fashion to discuss and debate current issues in relation to the design, production and consumption of fashion & textiles.

The first half of the afternoon will commence with a talk by Dr Helen Goworek, Lecturer in Creative Marketing at the University of Leicester, to discuss the impact of product development on sustainability.

The programme will involve breakout groups representing academia and industry to discuss questions on the present trends and future opportunities for sustainable fashion & textiles.

Feedback, conclusions, future directions and their implications will be gathered together in plenary, before the keynote speaker, Mr Bleue Wickham-Burnham, Head of Sustainability & Assistant Store Manager at Oliver Spencer, concludes the afternoon.

Bleue will discuss the importance of product footprint reduction and why the overall impact can be greater than originally expected.

Lead - Konstantina Skritsovali.

There will be light refreshments throughout the day as well as a fun filled Yoga session to get the afternoon started.
