Seeing prenatal testing from both sides, featuring Dr Michelle Peter
Overview
We are delighted to announce that ARC will be hosting a free online webinar featuring Dr Michelle Peter. Michelle is a senior social scientist driven by a desire to reduce health inequalities. She has worked on many projects exploring the social and ethical issues involved in prenatal genetic/genomic testing, with an emphasis on how we offer such testing in an equitable and accessible way. She currently leads on research exploring the views and experiences of Black parents who have been offered antenatal screening and genetic testing.
She will use learning from her research with parents and professionals to define culturally sensitive care in the context of prenatal testing and discuss how best to put it into practice.

About ARC.
ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices) is the only national charity providing non-directive, individualised information and support through antenatal screening and diagnosis. ARC exists to support parents in making informed and personal decisions about their pregnancy. This includes providing information regarding combined screening, NIPT, diagnostic testing and what pathways may involve when decisions are made about the future of the pregnancy. ARC provides specialised emotional support in recognition of the fact that antenatal screening and its consequences may cause uncertainty and anxiety.
This is a free event. Please email info@arc-uk.org with any questions.
