Overview

A reflective short course on equality, diversity and inclusion for Therapists, focussing on working with a child holistically.

This short course is designed for Educational Psychotherapists and Child Therapists seeking to deepen their understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice. Grounded in the principles of intersectionality, the course explores how overlapping identities — including race, gender, class, sexuality, and ability — shape children’s experiences in educational and therapeutic settings.

Participants will learn to:

  • Recognise and reflect on their own positionality, power, and privilege.
  • Understand the impact of systemic inequalities on children and families.
  • Engage confidently in conversations about race, gender, class, and sexuality.
  • Apply practical strategies to support inclusive, anti-oppressive practice.

Through reflective exercises, case studies, and group discussions, this course equips therapists to see and work with the whole child, fostering environments where all children can thrive.

Delivered by Lynsey Daniels, Educational Psychotherapist and Course Director at the Caspari Foundation and Bridget Cunningham, Educational Psychotherapist.
