Event description
A 2 hour session focusing on patient/client experience within the Optical Sector in Leeds.

About this Event

This 2 hour session as the title suggests is focusing on the patient experience within the optical sector. This will be an interactive session where there will be talks from patients who have been through their own sight loss journey, discussions around current practice and where we as a sector can improve our services with the patient being at the core.

In an ideal world I would like all staff who have any interaction with the Eye Clinic or Optical Sector to be a part of this day. It is on an audit afternoon and Optometrists will get 3 CPD points for attending as this is an interactive session.

For ophthalmologists it’s about the emotions that surround sight loss and about delivering a consistent standard of care to the patient to support them through this life changing diagnosis.

For all nursing roles it’s around identifying patients that may need support.

For receptionists it’ll be focused about offering help and guidance and identifying those with additional needs.

I think I have covered all branches, but whether you are a Commissioner, Secretary, Nurse, Manager, Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, Orthoptists, Photographer or Registrar these 2 hours will make us all think out of the box and deliver a consistent standard of care across Leeds with the patient being at the centre.
