What does light really mean to a gemstone?
Light is the most essential, and most overlooked, ingredient in jewellery.
It shapes colour. Defines value. Reveals texture, emotion, and story. And yet, in most conversations about gemstones, light is treated as a technicality, not the creative force it truly is.
For gemmologists, it’s a matter of science: refractive index, brilliance, dispersion.
For a photographer, it’s the unsung partner; the element that can make a diamond sing or silence a spinel.
Join us for an illuminating evening with Leo Bieber, internationally renowned jewellery photographer, as he reveals how light transforms jewellery into captivating stories, he will share stories and challenges from behind the lens and, if we are lucky, some of his tips and tricks.
There’ll be time for questions, connection, and informal networking with fellow alumni after the talk. Light refreshments will be served.
If you’ve ever held a gemstone and struggled to photograph its brilliance, this event is for you.
