About this event

Sefton Park and Palm House: A People’s Paradise - Walking and Building Tour

Starting with a tour of the park with Blue Badge Guide Richard MacDonald, we explore how utilising the best of English and French park design, 235 acres of farmland were transformed into one of the greatest Victorian municipal parks in the UK.

We explore the dells, groves and vistas of this magnificent landscape within the Grade I Listed Park and its surroundings.

We then visit the ‘jewel in the crown’ , the magnificent Palm House, where the café will be open for refreshments, before joining one of our White Badge Guides on a tour of the building and grounds.

You will also hear how the Palm House has successfully developed unique partnerships with community organisations, schools and health and wellbeing groups in a bid to encourage a more diverse audience.

Access Information:

There may be some uneven ground around the park but the tour and the Palm House should be fully accessible. Please let us know in advance if you have any particular mobility requirements or additional needs. Please contact hello@laf-uk.com if you have any accessibility concerns or queries.
