Sadza is a staple food of Zimbabwe, made of ground mealies/maize boiled in water to form a thick porridge. Once the porridge becomes thick enough to shape in the hands, it is eaten with meat and vegetables. We usually use our hands to eat but do whatever is comfortable for you!

Many of our roads in Zimbabwe are lined with jacaranda trees. The lilac flowers blossom in the trees and also coat the ground in the spring (October). They have become a joyful and somewhat nostalgic image for many Zimbabweans living abroad.
