As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, the Manchester Institute of Education Building Evidence into Education (BEE) blog is holding a free event for primary school teachers (with NQT or above). The session will focus on social and emotional learning (SEL) practices in the classroom and aims to create mutual learning for both teachers and researchers.

A research team led by Dr. Michael Wigelsworth will be sharing their new findings on the everyday practices that are often used in SEL interventions and attendees will be encouraged to reflect on how suitable these are for their own SEL practices.

This is an ideal opportunity for teachers to feed forward and inform directions for future research and practice in SEL in the classroom. The event will be captured by artists using a novel ‘visual minutes’ display, to showcase the comments and discussion from attendees.
