These online workshops, for children and young people aged 8 and upwards, will allow participants a first look at Selby Abbey built in Minecraft, with a guided tour by the master builders. They will then get the chance to design and build their own building in Selby Town Centre. We would love to see you build one of the following…

1. A building from the past. On the map already is the Abbots Staith, a medieval warehouse... What else would there have been in those times?

2. What buildings are there in the town centre today? Is there a favourite shop or a hotel that you could build?

3. What buildings do you think there will be in the future? What buildings would you like to see in Selby? An ice rink? A big wheel? A giant maze?

This workshop is aimed at children, but registration must be done by a parent or guardian over 18. Participants must be aged 8+ and will need to be registered Minecraft users prior to the event. A parent or guardian is required to be present (within earshot of) with any child under-18 during the workshop.

Participants for this workshop will require:

1. A PC or Mac suitable to run Minecraft

2. A Minecraft account for either Java edition or Windows 10 Bedrock

3. To access the server you will need version 1.16.4 Java edition or the latest Windows 10 bedrock version

4. Ability to access Zoom video conferencing software https://zoom.us/ this can be accessed by a web browser or the dedicated app.
