This course provides you with an understanding of what Selective/Situational Mutism is and provides practical strategies to help and support children/young people presenting with Selective/Situational Mutism in your setting.
Aims:
• To identify features of Selective/Situational Mutism in children who are presenting with anxiety around talking
• To provide strategies for supporting children in your setting with Selective/Situational Mutism
• To know where you can go to get further help
Ideal for:
Teachers and Childcare/Education support staff who support children with Selective/Situational Mutism or any practitioners who would like to find out more about Selective/Situational Mutism.
Please note: This course will be run as an online training session via Microsoft Teams. When you book, you will receive information about how to access the training and how the session will be run.
Please note that our training courses and workshops are designed to be interactive, to ensure participants get the most from the session. With this in mind, we ask that you check to ensure that both your camera and microphone are working prior to the course.
Each person attending the training needs to purchase an individual ticket. Several participants may join the training from the same device but each participant must have purchased an individual ticket. Additional participants who have not bought a ticket are not allowed to sit and watch the training, either in or out of the camera view. Additional participants in the room, who have not purchased a ticket, will be asked to leave.
