Selena Carty - We will remember
Fri 7 October 2016, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
Selena Carty, genealogist, historian and founder of the BlackPoppyRose, presents her research into the contributions of Black Servicemen (African, African American and Caribbean soldiers) who were members of or supported the British Armed Forces in the First and Second World Wars.
The BlackPoppyRose is a symbol to remember the African/Black/Caribbean communities who have contributed in a number of ways towards war efforts across the globe since the 16th century. Established with the aim of enlightening people of all nations of the contributions made by the African/Black/Caribbean communities. For more information please visit www.blackpoppyrose.org.
We present this event to celebrate Black History Month.
