Event description

Description

Driverless vehicles are all the rage in Silicon Valley: tech giants from Uber to Alphabet, to Apple and Tesla are all fiercely vying to create the best self-driving car technology.

But what about the UK? What companies are working to bring driverless vehicles to Britain, and how do they plan to do it? What are the technical challenges and breakthroughs, the legal hurdles, and the financial prospects for British driverless vehicle projects? What sectors will be disrupted —mobility, freighting, home delivery? And is the UK public ready for autonomous vehicles?

We will try to answer those questions (and more) during the latest event in the SHACK15 Data Insights Series, our quarterly panel discussions devoted to the fastest-growing areas of data science and AI. We will be joined by Notion Capital Investor Alex Flamant; Dr Robin North from Immense Simulations, a company creating software to manage fleets of self-driving vehicles; and William Sachiti, CEO of the Academy of Robotics and the inventor of driverless pod Kar-Go.

Robin North - CEO at Immense Simulations
