Self-Enquiry Life Fellowship Yoga-Vedanta concepts in traditional meditatio...
Thu 23 March 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 GMT
Be in the saintly presence of His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda, an ordained Vedic monk, and experience his chanting and sublime wisdom. Peace chants will be followed by a discourse on combined concepts from Yoga and Vedanta philosophies that are taught by unbroken lineages as esoteric meditation techniques. There will be an opportunity for personal greetings at the end of the fellowship.
His Holiness reveals to us a Himalayan tradition of Vedic wisdom based on the erudite Sanskrit heritage. He hails from lineages of Himalayan meditation adepts who are known for their combination of rishi - sagely scholarship and nath - yogic practices. Deep meditation on the Sanskrit aphorisms and monastic inquiry led to his profound realisation. Such a unique combination of a yogi, mystic and scholar is rarely seen in a teacher.
He is among the few scholars available in the West to hold the degree of Mahamahopadhyaya (great ordained teacher) awarded by the university system in India due to his scholarly and meditative interpretation of Sanskrit literature. He has lectured around the world as an emissary of peace, bridging spiritual traditions and sharing the universal teachings from the Indic ethos.
