Self-Esteem Awareness - Low self-esteem, where it originates from, how it can affect all aspects of our lives and tips on how to raise it
Our self-esteem is something we ignore at our peril as the consequences can be extremely damaging. Attending this workshop will raise awareness of self-esteem and its impact.
The first part of the day will be spent looking into self-esteem; identifying what it is and where it comes from. We will look at the patterns established in our brain since childhood and demonstrate how we only see what we expect to see. We will look at how people pleasing can result from low self-esteem as well as other negative results arising from it e.g. drug abuse, becoming a victim of domestic abuse, etc. We will also look at how egomania (over confidence) is used to compensate for low self-worth.
During the second part of the day we will do group work looking at ways we lower self-esteem and ways we can raise it, and identify what we can and cannot control.
The day will end with the focus on positive self-talk and how it helps us with a, ‘can do’ attitude.
