Event description

Description

Who should attend?

Proprietors, headteachers, senior management, trustees or governors of independent schools.

Why should you attend?

Accurate self-evaluation is a key driver of school improvement. Getting it right is critical because according to the inspection handbook “the rigour and accuracy of self-evaluation and how well it leads to planning that secures continual improvement ” is one of the criteria used to evaluate the effectiveness of school leadership and management.

If self-evaluation is based on evidence and involves the whole school inspection will come with few surprises. Used as the basis for improvement planning it ensures that your school is continually stretching to deliver a better quality of education each year.

During this training workshop you will:

  • look at how to compile a monitoring schedule which will generate all the data needed for accurate self-evaluation
  • discuss how to involve the whole school in the process of self-evaluation
  • receive guidance about writing the self-evaluation report
  • have discussions about interesting issues such as “What should I write on the self-evaluation report if the evidence available shows that my school is not performing well?”
  • get independent evaluation of the accuracy of a portion of your school’s latest self-evaluation report
