As part of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster Public Health continued development of our Stay with Us Campaign we are looking to roll out Self-Harm Alertness training across our communities

This training is fully funded and available only to people who live or work in the Royal Borough or Kensington and Chelesa or Westminster City Council

This three hour online training session is suitable for school staff, health and social care practitioners, and anyone in the community who wants to know more about self-harm, and how they can support someone who is self-harming. The training covers;

Training session contents:

  • How we define self-harm and its prevalence
  • Reasons people may self-harm and the cycle of self-harm behaviour
  • Coping and distraction strategies to manage self-harm behaviour
  • Developing safe plans and harm minimisation techniques
  • The relationship between suicide and self-harm behaviour
  • Our role in supporting individuals and what resources are available
  • Call for Action: Raising awareness of the Stay With Us Campaign and Suicide Awareness RBKC and WCC Resource

The training will be delivered by Every LIfe Matters on and small group work, and is delivered by our dedicated and experienced trainers. Participants will receive further support resources and a certificate of completion.
