Course aim:

•To develop understanding of self-harm and the responses that are helpful and supportive

Course objectives:

By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

•To develop their understanding about self-harm

•To think about helpful responses, drawing on the views of people who use self-harm and up to date evidenced based guidance

•To recognise the importance of looking after self when supporting others

Trainer: Suzanne Pearson

Trainer background: Suzanne is a mental health practitioner with extensive experience of supporting individuals who have mental health and emotional support needs. She is an independent mental health and social care trainer and CBT therapist working in the voluntary sector.

Suzanne has been a longstanding volunteer with the local ‘Self Injury Self Help’ peer support group and more recently with SHOUT, the national crisis texting service. She delivers training locally and nationally in responding to self-harm often on behalf of ‘Self Injury Support’ a national organisation.

An online course via Zoom. This is an interactive live course so please aim to have both a mic and video.

We ask for two working days notice if you are unable to attend the training, if this notice is not given there is a £75 admin charge
