This meeting will be of special interest to Self Help Groups, Voluntary Sector Organisations, Individuals and Professionals with an interest in Dementia and Dementia Care or Stroke Prevention, Awareness and Living Life after a Stroke.
Christine & Philippa from MindCare will be delivering a Free Training Workshop about Understanding dementia and the support in the borough offered through their Coping with Caring programme.
The aim of this session is:
• to give people an understanding of dementia,
• a small insight into what it might be like to have a dementia
• to show with the right support people with a dementia can live well.
• to give an over view of the coping with caring project.
Staff & Volunteer Ambassadors from the Stroke Association, will be presenting on stroke prevention and awareness as well as individual and group support in Wandsworth for people living Life After Stroke.
There will also be an opportunity to have a free, quick and simple blood pressure check!
This free event will be an opportunity to learn from our special guests and to celebrate the Self Help groups that offer a safe space for mutual support to people in the borough.
Whether you are already involved in a group, would like to set one up or are interested in finding out more, we welcome you to join us.

Lifetimes is the Council for Voluntary Services for Wandsworth supporting voluntary and community organisations in the London Borough of Wandsworth. As a registered charity, we provide training, advice, information, networking and opportunities for participation and involvement in local policy to all voluntary and community organisations in Wandsworth. We also help local organisations with volunteer best practice. We are based at 100 Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 4LA. Access to our offices is via All Saints Passage.
