Description

Leadership starts from within. Self-leadership enables us to understand more about who we are, how we think and what drives us. It gives us the opportunity to further develop and enhance our personal leadership qualities and capabilities. It is self-leadership which, ultimately, allows us to achieve the outcomes that we desire.

In this fast-paced, interactive and entertaining workshop Glen Savage - multi-award winning public speaker, coach, NLP practitioner and leadership expert - will help you explore your purpose, your beliefs, your values and the qualities that you deem important to you as a leader.

Through a light-hearted look at a serious topic - using movie clips, cartoons and stories, you’ll discover essential qualities and behaviours for successful self-leadership. You’ll identify which traits you wish to develop in order to achieve more. You’ll be actively engaged in discussions and exploration, you’ll capture your insights in a bespoke handout and you’ll leave with a personal action plan.

As Glen says, “The leader inside determines the results outside.”

Attend this unique workshop to help you sculpt your future success.

LONDON OLYMPIANS TOASTMASTERS

London Olympians is a branch of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organisation that has been developing public speaking and leadership skills through practice and feedback in local clubs since 1924.

There are currently over 55 Toastmasters Clubs in London and more than 14,350 worldwide.

London Olympians was formed in 2002. We meet at Grange Strathmore Hotel in South Kensington on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month. For more details about what we do at our meetings.

What do we do?

The purpose of Toastmasters is to help members overcome apprehensions about speaking in public and to improve their communication skills. This is accomplished by providing a self-paced, fun and focused speaking programme with a supportive and experienced group of people to assist.

This helps members become more effective in several areas, including:

  • Formal public presentations
  • Individual communication
  • Impromptu speaking situations
  • Managing and participating in meetings
  • Leading and managing people

These skills are developed in club meetings which are designed to provide an opportunity to practice speaking techniques in a variety of situations. A typical Toastmasters meeting includes the following sections:

Members of the club practice their speaking skills by giving prepared speeches from the Competent Communicator manual or an Advanced Speaking manual. Each speaking project is designed to develop specific skills.

Club members and occasionally guests, are given an entirely random topic to speak about. This is a chance to volunteer to practice impromptu speaking skills and improvisation – there is no obligation! Each Table Topic is typically one to two minutes long.

Evaluations give supportive feedback to Prepared and Table Topics speakers, highlighting the effective aspects of their speeches while providing helpful recommendations for improvement. Constructive evaluations are a hallmark of Toastmasters.

The best way to experience a typical London Olympians meeting is to visit. We strive to be the friendliest speakers club in London.
