This workshop is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is hosted by Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire.

Do you want more confidence in selling your products? Do you sometimes freeze when people approach you? After spending 20 minutes with a potential customer do they walk away empty handed? Do you worry about your prices? Do you know what you are worth? If you can identify with some of these challenges then these workshops are for you. This workshop is thought provoking, fun and interactive, including a mixture of presentations, discussions and practical hands-on putting.

What will I get out of this workshop?

  • Understanding how the selling process can actually be so easy.

What will we cover?

In the morning:

  • Understand the importance of assertive behaviour and what it actually is;
  • Self-assess how assertive you currently are;
  • Understand the difference between passive, submissive, assertive and aggressive behaviour;
  • How communication works both sending and receiving verbal, non-verbal and vocal information/messages;
  • Learn how to say no when you should;
  • How to deal with difficult people.

In the afternoon:

  • Understand who your target customer groups are;
  • Communicate what you really sell;
  • How to build rapport quickly;
  • How to find out your customer’s needs, wants and expectations;
  • Provide the solution for their needs, wants and expectations;
  • Understand how to handle objections and close the sale with confidence;
  • Keep in touch and keep them interested to ensure you secure their return;
  • Create your individual action plan.


This enjoyable training workshop contains a mixture of theory, discussion and practical exercises giving all delegates enhanced skills, knowledge and behaviours in the areas discussed.

She has over 30 years’ experience in business as a Business Owner, Sales & Marketing Senior Manager & Director, Business Teacher, Master Trainer, Learning & Development Assessor and World Host Trainer delivering numerous workshops and mentoring throughout the UK.




This workshop is free for visitor economy businesses based in Derbyshire to attend as it is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through our 'Growing and Developing the Visitor Economy within Derbyshire' project. Attendance will require you to compete an eligibility application form prior to attendance. By booking on to the workshop you are agreeing to attend, should you be unable to attend, failure to cancel your booking within 48 hours of the workshop will result in us invoicing you for £250 + VAT per person; the commercial cost of the session.
