Come and join Sells Pro Training at one of our goalkeeper showcase days in front of professional football clubs!

‘A pathway into the professional game with proven results

We initially set up these days because we knew we had some very talented goalkeepers in our weekly sessions and residential camps, like Xander, who played for Portsmouth and England Under 15's last season and has just signed for Wolves.

We have had two GKs go PRO at Sunderland & Coventry in 2025!

We realise it can be difficult for a goalkeeper to be spotted, and we wanted to give our goalkeepers more opportunities. We have since opened it to all goalkeepers and built great relationships with professional clubs. Since the inception of our trial days two years ago, we've been instrumental in turning the dreams of numerous goalkeepers into reality.

Three goalkeepers have been signed by Brighton, two each by Hull City and Reading, and one each by Portsmouth, Barnsley, Bristol City and Oxford United after being spotted at our trial days. The most recent one, Nottingham Forest signed Charlie in October after getting spotted on our trial day. Three of these goalkeepers, like Zach, have been called up to the England setup since signing. One keeper secured a scholarship at Colchester United, and Chelsea Ladies signed a girl after being identified at our trial days. These success stories are a testament to the opportunities we provide, even for those who might have thought their chance had gone.

All your child might need this opportunity, and they’ll have a great time doing it!

On the trial day, your child can showcase their talent and have lots of fun doing it. Plus, experience playing at some fantastic facilities.

What have you got to lose?

Sells Pro Training will provide a link between the professional and grassroots game, creating opportunities for students to meet and train with top professional keepers.

We will be the first steps in developing the goalkeepers of the future with the aim of creating pathways for other students into coaching, scholarships or a high level of football.

Via our close links to the professional game, our goalkeepers will be given a chance to be seen by top clubs.

Frequently asked questions

How Many goalkeepers signed for professional clubs after attending our trial days?

Three goalkeepers have been signed by Brighton, two each by Hull City and Reading, and one each by Portsmouth, Barnsley, Bristol City, Bournemouth, Oxford United and Colchester United. The most recent one, Nottingham Forest, signed Charlie and Leicester City signed Luis.

Is it open to boys and girls?

Yes, it's open to boys and girls.

What are the professional clubs looking for?

Clubs are not looking for the finished article; they are looking at potential and somebody they can develop. We put on drills that allow your child to showcase their talent. Also, clubs will sometimes track kids, so even though they might not be quite ready now, they will monitor them.

How many clubs attend?

We invite several clubs within an hour of the venue. We have close relationships with many Premier League and Football League goalkeeper departments, and they send their scouts to our events.  Clubs also contact us after the event if they can't attend, and we will pass on our recommendations.

What clubs have attended the trial days?

Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Bournemouth, Bradford City, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Derby County, Fulham, Hull City, Leeds United, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield United, Southampton and West Ham.

What's the process if a club identifies a goalkeeper on the day?

Any goalkeepers that are identified on the day we contact the parents. We will pass their details on to the club if the parents allow it. The club will then contact the parents directly.

What will a happen if they are identified?

The clubs may invite them into their development group, watch them play a match, or it might lead to a six-week trial with the club. They may get a 6-week trial after watching them or after a time in the development group.

What ages is it for?

We take from Under 8s through to Under 18s.

What age group do I book my child into?

For the current season, so 24/25. The age group changes with the school year. Don't worry; all the clubs will have the date of birth, even if you put them into the wrong age group. If your child plays a year up, put them in their age group rather than the one they currently play in.
