About this event
Running SEMH-Informed LEGO-Based Therapy Sessions
LEGO®-Based Therapy is more than just building bricks — it’s a structured, evidence-informed intervention that develops communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and regulation.
This SEMH-informed training shows you how to adapt the approach to meet the emotional and relational needs often written into EHCPs (Section F) or school-based support plans. It gives you the tools to evidence measurable progress, while supporting children’s confidence, connection, and emotional safety.
Led by Tracy, a neurodivergent SEMH education consultant, this live session is practical, beginner-friendly, and designed for professionals working 1:1 or in small groups.
🔍 What You’ll Learn
✓ The core principles of LEGO®-Based Therapy — how structured play builds cooperation, listening, and social problem-solving
✓ How to deliver sessions with clear roles (builder, supplier, engineer) that promote turn-taking, flexibility, and shared attention
✓ Strategies to embed sensory regulation, attachment, and trauma-informed practice into every session
✓ How to use LEGO®-Based Therapy as measurable provision for Section F needs, including social communication, emotional regulation, and prosocial interaction
✓ Tools to monitor baseline and progress (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, LEGO Prosocial Skills Tracker)
✓ Adaptations for different ages, needs, and settings — from mainstream classrooms to PRUs and therapeutic environments
