Seminar: LGBTI Community Engagement
Event Information
Description
This seminar will offer an opportunity for you to do some planning for the next year around reaching out and engaging with LGBTI people across the country. We will look at the development of the Pride movement in Scotland and consider different ways that you can use Pride to reach new audiences. You can also find out about Festival Fortnight and hear from those who have used this as an opportunity to grow their sport. We will also take a look at wider forms of LGBTI engagement outside these calendar highlights.
We are pleased to be joined by Scott Cuthbertson of Equality Network, and Stuart Duffy of Pink Saltire for this seminar.
This seminar is kindly hosted and supported by Scottish Student Sport and Edinburgh University.
SEMINAR SERIES
This seminar is part of the LEAP seminar series, supporting LGBTI people to access, participate and excel in sport. The purpose of the series is to create a space to explore specific issues in some depth, hear up to date narratives and developments in that area, and to identify and consider best practice and good practice examples.
The seminars are interactive sessions where partners will be sharing and discussing their own experience and practice as well as learning from some specifically designed content.
The seminar is offered for free as part of a programme of work funded by Scottish Government and Big Lottery Fund and is targeted at the sports sector.
