Seminar - Raising Responsible Teenagers

About this event

Your baby's almost an adult, or at least that's what he or she thinks. So life at home can be a little strained. Maybe your 13-year-old son grunts instead of speaking to you. Or your 14-year-old daughter wants to go to parties with people you don't even know. It's not that you've got a "wild" kid. You'd just like to make sure things don't get out of hand.

If this sounds like you, then this Triple P Seminar may suit. Seminars are 90 minute talks to large groups on a number of different topics. We hope you will find it interesting and take away some ideas.

In this seminar you will be introduced to the six key elements of teenagers becoming responsible and specific ideas about how to teach and encourage each of the following skills:

• Taking part in family decision-making.

• Being respectful and considerate.

• Getting involved in family activities.

• Developing a healthy lifestyle.

• Being reliable.

• Being assertive.

We will be delivering the session via Zoom – please ensure that you have downloaded the app and joining instructions will be given once you have booked in.

Places are limited and all our courses are available to parents who live in Sheffield only. Please contact your local authority early help team as they may offer something similar. Any bookings made by parents not in Sheffield will be cancelled.

Organiser of Seminar - Raising Responsible Teenagers

Sheffield City Council’s Parenting Specialists provide group based and one to one parenting support for parents and carers of children, from babies to teenagers.

We deliver programmes that are evidence based, and tried and tested. This means that the content is written by professional psychologists who have years of research into what works to manage behaviours and difficulties that we can all face as parents. These programmes are delivered across the world and have over 30 years of research behind them.

Everyone has busy lives and we are all different. There are different types of groups you can access depending on your needs and the time you have to spare. To find out what’s on and when in your area see our Sheffield Parenting What’s on Guide on the below website. Details will also be posted on our Sheffield Family Centres Facebook page.
