SEMINAR SERIES - CYBER SECURITY
Thu 6 April 2017, 11:30 – 12:30 BST
Topic: CYBER SECURITY
Presented by: Simon Dye
Company Name: Cyber 139
Description: Gloucestershire Constabulary announced in Dec 2016 that within Gloucestershire 54 per cent of all reported crime was cyber related. In other words you have a much higher chance of being mugged online in your home or work place than you do wandering around any of our towns at midnight at the weekend.
According to the latest report by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), there were 5.8 million incidents of cyber crime and fraud in the 12 months up to March 2016, affecting one in 10 people in England and Wales.
Think that as an SME you won't be targeted?
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) found in Dec 16 that small firms are unfairly carrying the cost of cyber crime in an increasingly vulnerable digital economy being collectively attacked seven million times per year, costing the UK economy an estimated £5.26 billion.
Attendees will learn how they are being attacked, the basics of how to defend themselves and find out statistically what could be the biggest threat to all UK organisations- which will close your organisation by the end of 2018 if you do not put in place changes.
Speaker: Simon Dye Chartered Marketer, MBA, DipM, FCIM, MAMA, MAMBA is the Chamber's Ecommerce Executive. Having helped various organisations over the past 2 decades including the MOD with online security and having passed internet security and cyber security courses at Kings College London, Deakin and Open Universities he set up Cyber 139 to help organisations survive the growing online threats facing them.
