Please be aware that the content of this training does include reference to examples of specific types of domestic abuse, including physical, sexual and emotional types of abuse. If it is possible you will be impacted by this content please bear this in mind before booking and if appropriate consider self care strategies that might be helpful following the session.

This seminar will explore the theme of Working with children living with and experiencing domestic abuse . We welcome Jo Sharpen from AVA and Professor Jane Callaghan to Nottingham to explore the following themes:

  • the experience of children living with / recovering from domestic abuse
  • supporting the adult and child survivors as a unit
  • the impact of coercive control on children
  • effective responses to children living with / recovering from domestic abuse
  • children's agency, actions and behaviours in managing and surviving domestic abuse

Juno Women's Aid and Equation will also introduce the work they do with children and young people.
