About this course

This course  will provide parents, grandparents, carers  and any person who works with children who have additional needs. ie, Autism, ADHD, mild or complex learning difficulties and disabilities. The course gives you an opportunity to create a book called  “All About Me”.

The book is designed to be shared with other people who support and care for your child (ie, school, nursery, childminders, family and friends) understand some of the best ways to help. It is your guide and a starting point for others to understand how best to support your child in everyday situations.

The sessions are for adults who can then use the template and create the pages with a child (if appropriate).

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners?

  • Understand how important it is to share information to people supporting a child with additional needs.
  • Gain confidence to share information about the child.
  • Identify some of the best ways for others to help and support with some of the everyday situations.
  • Use a computer to add text, images and photographs to a template

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

  • By the end  of the course the learners will have created a book of useful information to help others understand an how best to support a child with additional needs.  The book can be updated throughout the child’s development.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.  You will also need notepad and pen.
