SEN Storytime @ Warwick Library

Join us at Warwick Library for a relaxed approach storytime, especially for children aged 3-8, with SEN or those that would struggle to sit for a traditional storytime.

Enjoy an interactive story broken up by themed activities, you can join in as much as you are comfortable.

FREE to attend

Please book a ticket for every child attending, accompanying adults do not require a ticket but all attendees must be accompanied by an adult. Please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite if you are unable to attend or phone 0300 555 8171 and ask for Warwick Library.

Saturdays, every 4 weeks.

We section off the area on the the left as you enter the library, the most low arousal space in the library, to use for our SEN Storytime sessions (pictured below) Then you are very welcome to use the new castle children's area after the session with sensory seats and toadstools.

We use a visual timetable throughout the session, which will differ slightly each time.

An example timetable for the session, which is generally around 45mins - 1 hour long.

2 -Introduce everyone by name

3 -Listen to the 1st part of the story

4 - Movement break/activity like a quick tresure hunt

5 -Listen to the 2nd part of the story

6 -Do an activity on a tuff tray

7 -Listen to the 3rd part of the story

8 -Do a 2nd activity on a tuff tray

9 -Bubbles
