SEND Conference 2026 - Belonging and Succeeding with SEND
When: SATURDAY 14th MARCH 2026 - arrive at 9am for registration and refreshments for a 9.30 start. 9.00am - 4.00pm

We would like to invite you to join us at our SEND conference in March 2026.
We have an exciting agenda planned.
To start the day, you will hear from our keynote speaker:
Jo Tolley, who is Chair of the East Midlands Young People's Assembly and Co-production Lead for LLR SEND and Inclusion Alliance.
Jo works as a young researcher at Derby university and advocates to make a real change to the lives of disabled children and young people.
You will have the chance to attend three of the following workshops:
Workshop 1 - Developing physical skills through music, play and fun:
This session will develop understanding of the different aspects of physical development.
You will learn how this connects to all aspects of children’s development.
You will learn enjoyable songs rhymes and games and simple musical ideas to facilitate that development.
Steve Grocott: Steve is a professional musician, composer and qualified teacher who specialises in using music to develop all areas of children’s development in a fun, exciting and accessible way.
Workshop 2 - Supporting children with multi-sensory needs and/or profound and complex needs:
This session will equip you with ideas to support you to adapt your environment to include children with complex needs. This session will equip you with ideas to support you to adapt your environment to include children with complex needs

Workshop 3 - Home Learning Environment:
This session will highlight the importance and benefits of the home learning environment.
You will learn about resources available to support to support parents and yourselves and top tips to make home learning available and accessible to all families- learn through everyday activities, low/no cost.
Early Years, Inclusion and childcare
Workshop 4 - Preparation For Adulthood:
You will learn what Preparation for adulthood looks like for children from birth to 11 years and learn practical ways you and parent/carers can help children with SEND develop the skills to go on to live independent, successful lives.
Jo Bevan and Lisa O’Connor: Lisa is a senior Educational Psychologist and Jo, senior early years SEND advisor.
Workshop 5 - Supporting children with medical and physical needs:
This workshop will explore how you can include children with medical needs in your provision.

Workshop 6 - Supporting communication and interaction needs:
You will learn ideas to help you to include all children:
To support them to develop social skills and friendships
Tamsin Grimmer: Tamsin is an experienced consultant and trainer who is passionate about children’s learning and development. She believes that all children deserve practitioners who are inspiring, loving, reflective and committed to improving on their current best. Tamsin is passionate about promoting equality and to improve outcomes for all children.
Due to a high volume of ticket holders not attending we have now implemented a refundable £10 event booking fee. If you attend the event we will return the £10 you paid at the point of booking. Unfortunately if you do not attend you will forfeit the £10.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day and lunch will be provided.
During breaks and lunchtime, we invite you to look around our Market Place where you will find a range of stalls featuring services and resources to help you support children with SEND.
