How can I get to Canons House?

Accepted Answer

You can drive to Canons House and parking is available via Madeira Road, Mitcham. The nearest bus routes, followed by a short walking distance are: 45, 127, 200, 201, 264, 270, 280, 355, and S1. Mitcham tram stop is 10 minutes walk, and Mitcham Junction train station is 15 minutes walk away.

Question 2

Will the coffee morning start exactly at  9.30am?

Accepted Answer

The coffee morning will be open from 9.30am, but you are welcome to arrive when you can. We understand what the school run is like in the Mitcham area! However,  guest speakers we will start their talks  10.00am. Plus, we will need to leave as promptly as possible from 11.30am.

Can I bring my baby or younger children with me?

Accepted Answer

We have a limited capacity due to fire safety procedures. It would be best to bring just yourself. If these meetings gather much interest, we will arrange meetings at locations where children can be present or have virtual meetings.

Question 4

Will any representatives from Merton or any SEND charities be attending?

These termly coffee meet ups  are for representatives from charities or specific organisations to join us and provide with the input we need to support our families as well as possible.

Do I need to pay for the tea and coffee?

Accepted Answer

Tea, coffee, biscuits and water are free for us to enjoy. Just have a Monday morning refreshment and have a chat.

Will this be the only coffee morning for SEND Parents in Merton?

Since January 2025, we are proud to announce that we host SEND Parents' Coffee Morning pop-in sessions, every 3rd Monday (term-time) in the Community Kitchen at Canons House.  Our seasonal SEND Parents' Coffee Meet Ups take place on the 1st Monday of March, July, October and December.
