Event description

Description

Really successful schools are a partnership between teachers, parents, their children and the wider community they serve. The days when leaders could distance themselves from communicating regularly with all stakeholders are gone and we all have to reassess how we can interact effectively. Furthermore, in these days of falling rolls and ever tighter finances, promoting a positive image of your school is becoming much more important for recruitment and sustainability.

This course, led by Sir Bob Salisbury, will examine the kind of messages we should emphasize, the most effective strategies to use and those approaches which should be avoided. It will look at the design of prospectuses, the nature of school displays and the creation of ‘first impressions.’

It will also examine the most effective ways to handle the media, how to be interviewed and the best strategies to use when things go wrong. Tips on making effective presentations will also be included. This is not a course on the theory of marketing, but is based on proven , practical approaches which do actually work in our schools.

Suitability:

This course is suitable for Primary and Post Primary Senior Leaders and Principals.
