Nursing the congestive heart failure patient
This lecture will cover the pathophysiology of left and right sided congestive heart failure with treatment options and nursing considerations. We will also spend some time discussing the feline cardiac patient and their presentation with Feline Aortic Thromboembolism (FATE). Learning objectives include: • Cardiac anatomy review • Understand the mechanisms of left sided heart failure • Understand the mechanisms of right sided heart failure • Be confident in recognising clinical signs of left & right sided heart failure • Be confident in applying nursing considerations to feline patients with FATE
