T he event is being held in Classroom 5 in the Education Centre at Homerton University Hospital.
The workshop aims to:
Provide you with an overview of occupational therapy and how we can support you to support the children you work with to participate in every day school activities.
Increase understanding of difficulties the children you work with relating to sensory processing and emotional regulation.
Attendees with be supported to focus on a specific goal for either an individual child or groups of children they work with in relation to participation in school activities.
To think about strategies to support individual and groups of pupils, in relation to their own personal needs, the physical, social and sensory environment in the classroom and school setting, and the aspects of the school based tasks they are completing.
Support you to identify where sensory processing and emotional regulation difficulties may and may not be impacting on children's ability to participate in school.
Share ideas, issues and concerns with other school staff.
This workshop is suitable for class teachers, teaching assistants and SENCos working with children in mainstream and additional needs schools in Hackney.
