What is Sensory processing?

Elaine Rickett is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) with more than 30 years’ experience. She has a special interest in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Sensory Processing difficulties, and beside a mixed clinical caseload in Erewash she works 1 day a week in a specialist school for children with ASD.

2008 – 2011 Elaine was the clinical Lead for a Derby City Education/Health Pilot Study into the efficacy of OT provision for children with ASD in mainstream schools. Sadly funding streams did not follow due to the downturn in the Economy at that time.

Elaine is the ASD Lead for the South Derbyshire Paediatric Therapy Team and sits on several Working Parties and Specialist ASD Groups within Derby City and the County.
