Sensory Strategies for support within the home and classroom setting
Thu 18 May 2017, 19:00 – 21:00 BST
All the information we receive about the world comes through our senses.
In some people, the senses do not process information as they should and the brain ends up like a "traffic jam" of information instead of a steady flow of traffic.
Learning occurs when we receive accurate sensory information, process it in our brain and use it to organise our behaviours and activities at home and school.
This session will:
Identify the many senses affecting behaviour
Provide strategies/techniques to reduce the impact of these senses on behaviour
Provide practical ideas to remove barriers to learning within the classroom environment and ease anxiety across home and school settings
